I had way too much fun trying on bridal gowns Tuesday morning! I did live shots there for the morning show to promote the Goodwill of WNY’s first ever bridal sale they’re hosting this weekend, March 4th.
This is such a good idea! Get this – Goodwill collected about 200 wedding gowns as well as bridesmaids gowns, flower girl dresses, and other formal wear from people in the community. There’s even designer Maggie Sottero and Mori Lee wedding gowns, and a wide variety of modern and vintage gowns.
(Can you tell I was thinking “Say Yes to the Dress” when we shot this intro ? LOL)
A gently used dress (only worn once!) is only $25 and a BRAND NEW dress with tags STILL on it is only $50! WOW! According to 2016 wedding statistics by the Knot Show the national average for what is spent on a wedding dress is $1,564!
This is a great opportunity for someone who may otherwise not be able to afford a wedding dress, or for anyone looking for ways to save. You’re also supporting a great cause at the same time. Each dress that’s purchased supports programs at the Goodwill that help put people in our community to work.
