WNY Greek community helping people impacted by devastating fire in Greece

It’s been one week since a devastating wildfire ripped through an area Northeast of Athens. According to CBS news, the death toll is now up to more than 90 people. Many are still missing.

Photos of the tragedy, like the one above, are absolutely horrific. (Photo credit: CBS News.)

This hits close to home for me, because I am 100% Greek and I have family members who live in Greece. Fortunately, they are hours away from where this deadly wildfire occurred.

There is a big Greek community in Western New York, and following this terrible tragedy the Annunciation Greek Orthodox church of Buffalo is collecting donations to send to fellow Greeks in need overseas. WATCH my report (from 7/26) below:

If you’d like to help people impacted by the devastating fire in Greece, you can mail your donation to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox church at the following address:

146 W Utica Street, Buffalo, NY 14222
